I love St. Ive's apricot scrub and the way it softens my skin. I just don't want to damage my skin, though, and wondered if I shouldn't use it every day.Is it okay to use facial scrubs every day, or are they too abrasive?
i had the same stuff and after a few months my face got soooo dry it started peeling and it was gross try washing your face with dove soap everyday it works rly good [=
best answer?? plzzzzzIs it okay to use facial scrubs every day, or are they too abrasive?
sure
I have that as well, and I love it too.
However, overuse of facial scrubs (especcially this very abraisive kind) can cause broken cappillaries, which show up on the surface of your skin as red little spidery lines - especcially if you aren't gentle applying it.
So.. I would suggest maybe using it 3 times a week- at most - rather than everyday. That way, you can get the smooth and soft skin you like, while reducing the risk for broken capillaries (and dried out skin from the salicylic acid!).
You can use a milder cleanser the rest of the week. Using facial lotion after using the scrub can also avoid drying out your skin. If I'm not mistaken, they sell a matching apricot repair lotion to use after the scrub. If not, I think Olay is a very effective and reliable brand.
It is way too abrasive for every day. Once a week tops. If you must do it every day, buy the St. Ives for Sensitive skin, it is much less harsh. You really aren't doing your skin right if you continue to use the harsh scrub every day.
I use St. Ive's everyday and I have seen a real improvment in my skin all day long. I would use it everyday but only once, that is what I do. Hope I helped!
I use mine every other day, and sometimes every day. I see nothing wrong with it, and even though my skin is sensitive, I don't feel like its too abrasive. I've heard that many great-skinned celebs, one being Janice Dickenson, that they exfoliate every day to keep their skin glowing. As long as you don't rub too hard, it should be alright. If you feel like your skin is getting too irritated, try switching to an exfoliator with fruit acids instead of beads, which should be more gentle on skin.
no it is great to wear them every day. it will keep your skin from getting oily and prevent acne
Well it is a great brand. I use it every once in a while. Instead of using it everyday just try every other day. See how that works. I don't think it should damage your skin though. But my skin is so sensitive so I don't use the scrub sll that much. But if you skin is soft no breakouts or anything then you probably should be able to use it everyday. Best of luck and god bless =]
not every day, too harsh on your skin.
about twice a week.
sometimes clean can be to clean.so wat i do is by the stuff thats not so intence you know . like the new neutrogena foaming face wash.sometimes others like st ives are to hard on skin.but if its good on your skin then i wouldnt say every day,.......u see as i said before sometimes it can be to clean.try every other day ,on the days your not washing your face with that u could just wash it with warm water.
i guess that it is okay, as long as you feel that your skin isnt getting any worse from overwashing. some people need to do that because they have very dry skin.
No. They are too abrasive.
Your body produces natural oils that are needed on your skin. The more you take away these oils the more your body produces. If you use to strong a product everyday you will find that your skin dries out and then when you stop you will notice that your skin becomes very oily as your body has adjusted to producing extra oils to compensate.
As an everyday product you need a mild cleanser and moisturiser.
Hope this is helpful
I use mine twice a week. I used to do it everyday and my face got really sore. It can be quite harsh to your face.
I love St. Ive's too! It smells so good. However, I have noticed that it really dries out the skin. The bits of apricot (or whatever it is) sometimes makes my skin feel beat up and dried out. So, I use Neatrogena's lotion every day after washing. It moiturizes the skin and keeps it smooth and healthy. Also, it is non-cometogenic, so it does not clog pores and it keeps the skin clean.
I have found that sometimes, the intense scrub (like St. Ives) is best used twice a week, while a more gentle scrub or wash can be used the other five days. I use Neutrogena's face scrub for sensitive skin. The beads are very small and non-abrasive, but the wash smells really good and leaves my skin nice and clean, without drying it out.
Good luck!
