She should try pro active or acne free at wal mart is the same thing and cheaper. They work really good.
I think she is too young, she has just started puberty and entering the teenage years..........xxIs it alright for my 13-year-old sis to undergo facial? Isn't she too young for this?
A facial is just a deep scrubbing of the skin, no big deal and it might help with the acne.
Everybody goes through blackheads and pimples, as far as I know. She can reduce how badly she gets it by watching what she eats and drinks. Keep away from greasy foods as much as possible, as well as chocolate, soft drinks and too much carbohydrate. I used to limit those to once a week. She also has to drink plenty of water to cleanse her body from toxins and chemicals found in our food and environment. That helps the skin a lot. Also eating fruits and vegetables. Although I'm not very fond of vegetables, I do enjoy fresh fruit. Lots of fibre is good. This is from my own experience. When you improve your nutrition, it shows on your skin. It also helps hair and nails. She'll still get a few pimples because she's going through adolescence and everything that entails, from hormone changes to mood fluctuations; but the pimple outbreaks won't be as bad. Combine that with good skin hygeine and everything will turn out OK. I used to use fresh cucumber juice and wipe it over my face with cotton before I go to bed at night. Let it dry, then wash it off. That helped me.
Just remember, changing your diet and lifestyle works great, and even though the results don't show straight away, the patience pays off in the end. I am now 27 and just last week someone commented on how great my skin looks. It wasn't the first time either. Even when I was in college. Anyway...
Good luck with everything!
That will probably be a great benefit for her skin.
instead of putting creams and stuff, hat may really clog pores and therefore cause more blackheads, consult a dermatologist..maybe a facial or other treatments are suited for her..
A facial is just harsh scrubbing, treatment, it wont do any harm to her skin at this age at all. Have you tried acne free?
here are some tips to help with the acne:
1.foods dont cause acne
2. drink 5 glasses of water everyday
3. buy acne free
4.wash face twice a day only, no more than that
5. dont touch yoru face because all the bacteria on yoru hands will cause oily skin/acne
6. go to dermatoligist plz, maybe be pricey but worth it
she is just 13 yrs old, i think she doesn't need to freak her self out just because of pimples, it's normal for a 13 yr old girl to have them because she is maturing, she is under going on the puberty stage, so it is just normal.
and don't try to put creams, and other stuffs on her pimple because it might worsen the pimple, just get a regular sleep, wash your face with water and soap and that's it..
You can spend so much money on all these different creams and go to the doctor and each one will tell you somthing different. It is in her genes. Just buy over the counter face cream.. DDF and Shishido. Both are great. DDF is a great brand. can be found at macys but works great. Keeps face clean and oil free... No matter what she will have pimples till she gets older and grows out of it. Live with it like 25% of all teens do. I did ... I tried all this crap. Doctor gave me somting it was a cream and now i have a bleatched spot on my chest. Im 22 yrs old and still have light spot on my chest where i would rub it... Stupid doctor
Facial what?
There are medications that can be obtained from a dermatologist that help greatly with teen achne. Suggest giving that a try.
Yes. Go now.
A facial? Not really. It's just a treatment, like a manicure or massage - it's not, like, surgery or something.
It might not necessarily make the pimples go away, though - she's moving into an age where she'll just have to deal with having them.
She should go to a dermatologist.
blackheads are a pain in the bum bum for real. regular pimples are much easier to stay on top of because all you need is peroxide. if she can not control herself from popping them, after popping them- put peroxide over the pinched open area. it will keep any germs from reforming into a raging and even bigger pimple.
to treat blackheads, you have to continuously wash your face because all blackheads are made up of dead skin and oil.
facial?
Why?
Omg, thats not good at that age, sorry hun.
Just keep trying with the whole achne and get prescriptions, and or face cream/wash.
She must not be taking enough care of her face if all thats happening, but hun its really not that big of a deal though everyone gets them at some age, they will go away and I hope that you know this.
If the facialist is gentle, it may help clear up some of the issues. She should just make sure to go to a higher end place with gentle products (like an Aveda Salon) so that they don't burn or pick at her face.
If you will bring your sister for facial, i suggest you go to a dermatologist and not just any facial parlor. I think at her age, you should be more careful. it is natural for teenagers to have blackheads and pimples but it should be treated properly to prevent more serious skin problems in the future.
no, she's not too young, 13 is a perfect age to undergo a facial. It will also increase her confidence too to have the pimple and blackheads removed although i would recommend a hot steam mask therapy treatment as this actually opens the pores whereas a facial just gets rid of them in the short term.
I think its ok for her to do a home one. But before she does make sure she is cleaning her face with a product such as noxemia, or the generic wal-mart version of it. After cleaning, use a mild facial scrub, and then a mud mask. Afterwards use a pimple product to help clear them up. The key here is to make sure that she is washing her face and following a daily routine with the facial wash and the pimple product. Facials can be done once a week. While your at it with her treat yourself, do your nails together, make this a fun time for her and you, turn on your favorite music, hey mom might even have a great time sharing this with you two. Great bonding routine for all of you.
to young
If you mean a Facial from a spa environment ? Then no I don't think she is to young to take care of and learn how to protect her skin. Because basically what a facial is.. Is a qualified aesthetician will clean the face gently then hydrate or help her determine the best products to use on her type of skin they are very relaxing and if you have a qualified person very informative too. I wish I would have learned more about protecting and preserving my skin at her age. If chemical peels are mentioned at all then I think those might be too harsh for her.
it's fine for her to get a facial, but t won't really remove pimples. Stay away from chemical peels. I've been doing homemade facials since I was 11. Tell her to wash her face, apply toner and moisturizer in the morning; and wash her face, moisturize, and apply an on-the-spot zit treatment before she sleeps. Stay away from anything with abrasives, because they, along with harsh chemicals (like proactive- designed for mature skin), can harm young skin. also, bangs are bad. the extra oil from the hair can cause pimples. I got started on the above facial routine and my skin is great (if i do say so myself). hope I helped, acne is stressful for young girls.
