This remark was given to me by the interviewer in an interview for a job. He said ';I don't like your facial expressions you need to work on them';, and I really want to understand what he meant exactly and how can I address this problem ? thanks everyoneWhat is meant by ';You need to work on your facial expressions';?
You probably have a face like I do. I look mad, angry, or stressed-out even when I'm not. It's been a curse of mine my whole life. Learn to smile the majority of the time. Keep things in your mind that make you smile, like something funny you saw on television recently or maybe something funny your cat or dog did this morning. It's the simple things that work best. That's what I do and I haven't been confronted with this in a long time.
It may also help to meditate from time to time so you can learn to relax your facial muscles. What is meant by ';You need to work on your facial expressions';?
You may be in the habit of revealing your thoughts with facial expressions. Some people do this more than others. Many times people are unaware they do this. Practice talking with your family and friends. Ask them to tell you if they notice any expressions. Some examples of bad expressions are: rolling your eyes with disbelief, looking like you just bit into a lemon when you hear something that offends you, and avoiding eye contact with the person you are speaking with.
He a nut. Unless you're sticking your tongue out and pulling your face out of shape, it's probably fine. People have odd idiosyncracies. Unfortunately they may be in a position to decide your job fate. Don't give this any thought. Keep job hunting and good luck. Eventually someone will like your face and hire you.
it probably means ';you won't get this job';.
keep looking.
