They are just cooling and there for relaxation-- a cucumber is naturally 5 degrees cooler than room temperature. Used chamomile tea bags, when chilled in the fridge, are an excellent replacement and help get rid of bags/dark cirlces.What are replacements for cucumbers for a facial?
Cucumbers don't actually do anything special; they just feel good because they are cold and damp. There are several similar things you can do: a washcloth soaked in cold water, the backs of spoons that have been stuck in the fridge, or face cream that has been stuck in the fridge are my favorites.
